I didn't know the difference between the TR series and the PS series, so I contacted Event.

Event released the new TR (Tuned Response) series of studio monitors. In the press release it said that new construction materials & techniques allowed for cheaper production, but I still didn't get what the difference was between the TR series and the PS (Project Studio) series, so I e-mailed Event. They responded, and now I know the difference.

Basically the TR series has sleightly lesser headroom than the PS series - by 3db, but is "much cheaper" thanks to a different cabinet & manufacturing location.

I guess we'll have to wait for the 'newness' factor to wear off because I've seen the PS series cheaper than the TR series. I guess the newness of the TR series relative to the PS series is allowing companies to sell them for more than the PS, or maybe some places are phasing out the PS series in favor of the newer TR series and their prices are temporarily lower.

I mean, if I've seen the PS5 for $230 per speaker @ Musician's Friend, then doesn't that mean I should see the TR5 for even less one day soon?
